first warm spring day
I take my shadow
for a walk
वसन्त का पहला गर्म दिन
मैं अपनी परछाईं के साथ
टहलने निकला






nobody on the street
stray dog stops to bite
its wagging tail
सड़क पर कोई नहीं
एक आवारा कुत्ता रूका
अपनी पूँछ को ही काटने






waving goodbye
to the father a clothesline
of children’s shirts
अलविदा कर रहे
पिता जी को कपड़ों की तार पर
बच्चों की कमीज़ें







ocean sunset
he whispers something
and her earrings glow
महासागर का सूर्यास्त
उसे कुछ फुस्फुसाया
उसके कान की बाली






passport check
my shadow waits
across the border
पासपोर्ट चैक
मेरी परछाईं प्रतीक्षा कर रही
सीमा के पार
